Ellen Thompson Business Biography
Ellen Thompson's Business Biography

Introduction

Ellen Thompson graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business in 1990. Ellen wasted no time and began what has become a life long career as an entrepreneur the month of her graduation. Over the next 16 years, Ellen went on to start, manage, and grow six businesses, including five technology-based companies. Along the way, Ellen, her team and her company’s products have won numerous awards and honors.

Although many of the companies she founded and ran were remarkably successful, Ellen has experienced her share of failure. While Ellen shares many of her accomplishments in her business biography, one of her primary goals is to emphasize her mistakes. It is her hope that reading about these missteps can help you to avoid some of your own.

You’ll find that Ellen’s biography is more like a “how to” book than an account of her “life story.” Each chapter focuses on an issue she encountered in the course of starting, growing and managing her businesses, the decisions she made in regard to these issues, and the impact these decisions had on her business.  These issues are likely to be faced by any entrepreneur or small business owner.  It is Ellen’s hope that by shedding light on her real world experience in business, you’ll gain insight into growing your business to the next level.
